Printmaking allows me to respond to elements of color, movement, emotion and balance with fluidity and freedom, I am free to shape thoughts and images as I play.

I usually do not start with a finished image in mind, instead allowing the discoveries and process to guide me. Many of these monoprints are worked with fabric dyes, rather than traditional printmaking inks, creating unique textures and vibrancy.

Fast, free and fluid painting of shape and color onto a multitude of printing plates yields images to transfer on to paper as the pass through the press.

Kathy Is owner of Ragged Edge Printmaking Studio in Cohoes.  The studio is fully equipped with a large etching press.  Studio share time and introductory classes are available.
